Governor Spencer Cox announced Convergence Hall, a flagship innovation campus for the state of Utah set to open in 2029 at The Point in Draper. The facility will serve as a permanent home of the Nucleus Institute, Utah’s cross-sector convening organization, and serve as a national demonstration site for what is possible when government, higher-education, industry, and global partnership move together.

Convergence Hall will house the full Nucleus organization, integrating the Nucleus Fund, MarketEdge, Nucleus Grow, ProLab, and PolicyLab under one roof. The campus will host all Utah Universities, from community college to our research institutions; co-development spaces for industry partners; federal and defense technology initiatives anchored by Hill Air Force Base; and policy development labs designed for Utah’s continued success.

“This isn’t a building — it’s the infrastructure of a state that intends to compete for the future on its own terms.”

The announcement arrives as national competition for innovation leadership intensifies. Utah entered 2026 as one of the fastest-growing economies in the country, with proven strength across aerospace and defense, life sciences, technology, FinTech, and energy.

Convergence Hall will serve as a global showcase asset for the 2034 Winter Olympics, positioning Utah not as a host, but as a destination for talent, capital, and innovation investment.

Through ProLab, Convergence Hall gives students at every level of Utah's public university system a home for realworld, high-impact project work, preparing graduates while delivering results for the industries and communities they serve.

Convergence Hall was designed as a working facility rather than a conference center, purpose-built for the sustained collaboration that produces commercializable breakthroughs. It is the physical expression of the advantage Utah has spent a decade building: the ability to align faster across sectors and faster than anyone else.
